The basic form is a simple gable roof with shed dormers on the
east and west sides providing light and views for a new loft-library
running the length of the house. Douglas fir tree trunks with
exposed bolted connections make up the majority of the rustic
framing and all the fireplace stone was gathered from the surrounding
vineyards. Exterior glass is shaded by a combination of oak
trees, sun shades, and a wrap-around covered porch.
